Tiger

Journey into the animal kingdom continues from cat, horse to tiger. I guess next would be lion.


Checkout the video with 34 stages of the sketch. It took me 5 seatings spread across 3 months to finish it...mostly because I was lazy and it looked like a daunting task after 50% into it.



Also learned that if you're creating a movie with pics in iMovie it will add Ken burn effects by default and any changes to project properties don't get applied?? Create a new project, alter the project properties and then add pics.

The Horse

Completed it comparitively faster than my other paintings.

Girl with red rose

I've been wanting to draw this for a long time. I abandoned the first attempt. But started afresh last weekend and here I am.

It took some time to locate the poster. It's called "Only for You" by Kim Anderson. It's also called "Red Hat" and appears in "Little Friends" too.

Update:
Mom says the sketch is exceptionally good. She said, "Look at the tail. How brilliant it is! OMG!" She even encouraged me to be a full time artist.

Color Pencil Drawing - Sleeping Dogs

This is my first color pencil drawing. I took four hours to do it. Ear of the dog in front looks as if it has been wrung.

A Misspiece

After a long hiatus, I drew again! Below are the pictures of the my misspiece followed by the original.







I use to take drawing lessons during school. I revived my creative pursuits in Feb '07 when my friend and I bought art supplies and drew a lion together. And then there was a lull. I had a sense of satisfaction after completing this painting.

What critics say?
1) My roommates liked it. One of them however mentioned that the woman on right is thinner. I agree.

2) A visiting friend mistook the lady on left for Mira Jasmine. We teased him for his affinity towards the actress and it helped when I showed him the original.

3) My mom said the woman on left is slouching and face of the woman on right is distorted. I convinced her I'll practice and do better next time.
